Official Scouting Report

05/10/2015 - National Tryout - College Station, TX Noah continues to show well on the diamond. On the bump, FB shows tail while now topping out at 80 mph. Curveball has 10/4 shape with good depth. Changeup shows deception as he throws it with FB arm speed. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with all of his pitches. In the OF, Fouts takes good angles as he hustles into position behind the fly-ball. He plays through it well and has a clean exchange to throw. At the plate, he has rhythm to load and waits for his pitch. He hits the ball where it's pitched and sprays it to all parts of the field. Noah is a versatile player who can make things happen on the diamond.

02/01/2015 - College PREP - Houston, TX Noah is an athletic SS/RHP that showed good actions in the middle of the infield. Defensively, he worked in front with his sure hands and was efficient with his feet to make plays. He got ride of the ball well and showed good range right and left. Offensively, he had good balance, got his hands activated in his launch and delivered the barrel to contact generating decent bat speed. He worked through the ball getting extended in front and with more work to stay compact will hit with greater authority. On the mound, he threw from over top with exceptional feel for his CB with late/sharp action and 11/5 shape. To date, it was the best we had seen the breaking ball, and he showed promising feel and growth for his CH. Increasing arm strength all around is essential to his further development. In all - Noah continues to show growth and should have a solid junior season.

12/20/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Noah showed well on the mound during his workouts in Pirate City. He stands over the rubber well, works quickly, and is around the plate with his pitches. Noah has on-time separation, lands in a square position, and attacks hitters aggressively. Defensively, Noah has fluid actions, he works though the ball well, and his exchange is clean with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Noah has an athletic set-up, a level swing path, and good balance. He has direct hands to the ball, and flashes good barrel accuracy.

11/17/2013 - College PREP - Houston, TX Noah is a young, lean RHP/SS that will graduate in 2016. Currently, he projects best at SS for the next level. Feet are active / aggressive as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft / sure hands. He attacks balls and plays through well with his body, displaying smooth, clean actions. Defensive grades will continue to improve as he works to improve double play feeds / turns and increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced / squared approach and he tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed, working to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grades will continue to improve, as he learns to work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. With 3 years to further develop, Noah has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
