11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training at Pirate City Noah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 3.45 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a solid setup, sticks balls in the zone and utilizes his body through the blocking process. At the plate, he shows squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 1 for 5. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 55 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and developing off speed pitches will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/16/2020 - All-In Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Noah is a skilled, young (2027 grad) R/R catcher. Behind the dish, he sits in with athletic/quiet actions and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He works hard laterally around pitches in the dirt and uses his body to center and keep balls in front. Transfer is clean as he works in-line toward 2B - pop times at 3.20. Times will continue to drop as he develops more arm strength and quickens his transfer/exchange. With the bat, this righty shows a square setup with fluid rhythm to load. He swings on a level path and squares the ball up hitting line-drives. More lower 1/2 drive will result in increased power. Only a 2027 grad - Gray still has a ton of time to develop and physically mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
