12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Noah continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. At SS, he displays proper footwork as he works to square ball up. Glove action is soft and fields out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws display online carry to his target. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 1 for 3 with 3 BB. Noah is very coachable and works hard on the field.

04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Charlottesville, VA Noah continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. He showed as a SS/OF at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.19 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (88 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting /power potential is solid through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/24/2021 - MS All-Region Tournament Noah is a 2027 C/RHP who showcased his skills during the All Region Tournament. Behind the plate, he showed good agility, with active feet, and presents a low target. Works with good direction towards second base and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Made accurate throws to second base with an arm velocity up to 64mph and a best pop time of 2.46 seconds. Showed good spine angle on his blocks, with his chin tucked, and gets to his feet quickly. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He works with good tempo and has a calm demeanor. He has a simple and repeatable delivery. Showed ability to hold runners and field his position. Throws a FB that sits 54-55mph with some movement in the strike zone. In 4 innings of work of live game action, Noah threw 61% of his pitches for strikes and induced soft contact while surrendering 0 runs. In 2 of those innings, Noah minimized his pitch count by recording 3 outs on 5 pitches and 3 outs on 6 pitches. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and even stance. He takes a square glide step and keeps his barrel on-plane through the hitting zone. Sprayed the ball to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 67mph. Showed good plate discipline as he reached base 7 times in live game action with a 3 singles and 4 base on balls. Another 6 years of continued growth and development will put him on track to have opportunities to play at the high school level and beyond.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Noah continued to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American tournament. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.80 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training at Pirate City Noah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 3.45 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a solid setup, sticks balls in the zone and utilizes his body through the blocking process. At the plate, he shows squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 1 for 5. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 55 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and developing off speed pitches will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/16/2020 - All-In Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Noah is a skilled, young (2027 grad) R/R catcher. Behind the dish, he sits in with athletic/quiet actions and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He works hard laterally around pitches in the dirt and uses his body to center and keep balls in front. Transfer is clean as he works in-line toward 2B - pop times at 3.20. Times will continue to drop as he develops more arm strength and quickens his transfer/exchange. With the bat, this righty shows a square setup with fluid rhythm to load. He swings on a level path and squares the ball up hitting line-drives. More lower 1/2 drive will result in increased power. Only a 2027 grad - Gray still has a ton of time to develop and physically mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
