  • C/1BPosition Projection

07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Noah is a hardworking C/1B prospect who loves to play the game. As a left-handed hitter, Noah has an open setup with a centered balance. He has a load and partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. He maintains good balance through his swing and is developing bat speed. Noah shows good contact to the pull side of the field. Behind the plate, Noah works hard and tracks the ball well. He presents a high target and receives the ball with a firm glove. Noah has long exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has good momentum through his release showing online throws to 2B. Overall, Noah is a coachable prospect who has potential to advance his skills with development.

04/08/2018 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Noah is a solid, thick 1B/C who will graduate in 2019. At the plate is where he shows best through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is soft /sure and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.20 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and sticks ball in zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner to improve grade. Noah has abilities with a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
