Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.15 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and receives the ball well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth, clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind fly balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved, now through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
