Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Noah is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Noah shows quick footwork and gets into an athletic position, fielding with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to be consistently accurate to his target. Noah can improve defensively by working on his lateral quickness to improve his range. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and maintains center balance. He takes a short swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid contact to all fields. Noah can improve as a hitter by gaining more extension through the ball. On the mound, Noah shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and extends through well on his release. His fastball tops out at 84mph with good cutting action. Noah can improve as a pitcher by striding square towards the plate. Overall, Noah is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

11/20/2016 - College PREP - Pearland, TX Noah is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.31. In the MIF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. At the plate he continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel as he utilizes all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the bump, this righty throws a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and loose/free arm action. He works through a strong balance point and has smooth overall actions. FB ranges from 78-81 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. Arm speed is maintained on changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches at the next level. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. With 2 years to further develop, Noah has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
