12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Wildman is a two-way 1B/LHP that will graduate in 2018. Defensively, Noah showed a feel for footwork around the bag and picked balls in the dirt well. On ground ball technique, the feet are efficient and Wildman will benefit from presenting the hands more out in front to allow for increased play through with momentum to target and allow for greater carry on throws. At the plate, Noah showed an aggressive mindset and activated the hands properly in his load. Developing a stroke that keeps the barrel in the zone longer by staying down through contact will increase barrel accuracy and pop. On the mound, this left hander showed the ability to throw strikes consistently utilizing a gathered balance position with body control and athleticism present in the delivery. Noah competed with good mound composure as he was able to attack hitters using both sides of the plate and minimizing offensive opportunities when they did arise. Creating more extension and consistency with the glove side lead and keeping the arm action identical on fastball and secondary pitches will be beneficial to Noah. With a hard-working mentality, Wildman will get the most from his abilities and his stock on the diamond will continue to rise.

10/04/2015 - College PREP - Wichita, KS Noah is a talented LHH 2-way player as a LHP/1B. On the mound, this lefty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and loose/free arm action. Separation is smooth as he stays directional toward the plate. He drives his lower 1/2 off of the rubber finishing complete. FB tops out at 70 mph while showing slight arm-side run. Curveball has 3/9 shape with 'looping' action. Effectiveness will improve as he works to stay on top and finish through his release. Offensively, this lefty has a balanced stance with rhythm in his hands. He gets loaded fluidly waiting for his pitch. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and pulls it with pop. At 1B, Noah shows active footwork as he hustles into position behind the GB. He has good lateral range and is sure handed, making the plays. Widman (2018 grad) is an offensive threat who still has time to progress his overall skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
