08/08/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Houston, TX Nolan is a LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Nolan shows improvement every time we see him. A left-handed pitcher, has a simple and repeatable delivery with a fast arm. He shows good rhythm to his delivery with good direction to towards the plate. He separates his hands on-time as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and lands square to his target. Throws a FB that was up to 78mph with tailing action and plus command. He mixes in a 1/7 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth, and a changeup with good depth that he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. In the OF, takes aggressive angles to balls, with active/efficient footwork, and showed good instincts as he worked behind and through the baseball. He fields from an athletic fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and has a clean gather off of his right foot. Throws from a high 3/4 release point with an arm velocity up to 77mph. At the plate, he sets up with an athletic and square stance. He has a simple swing with good rhythm to his swing. A small hand load, with a short glide step, and is centered at contact. 06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Nolan is an LHP/OF in the 2025 class. Scouts describe Nolan as "even keel player who competes with great effort" Once he becomes stronger and grows into his frame (5'11/145) he has potential to become a solid two-way player. On the mound, he was around the zone with his 3-pitch mix. He is confident on the mound and mixes speeds and pitches well. His FB topped at 77 with tailing actions. His off speed sat mid 60's with his CB and CH. Once he fine tunes his mechanics and works downhill, he will develop more velo and produce swing and miss ability. In the field, he has strong footwork to the ball and works behind the baseball. Has the arm strength (81 velo) and accuracy to prevent the extra base. Working to follow his throws will create more depth behind the ball and increase an already strong arm. At the plate, he is a disciplined his hitter who can use the whole field. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
