07/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Nolan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities has improved as he displays smooth actions. He takes a quick first step and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. He takes proper routes / angles but needs to work to get behind to play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Nolan is an athletic OF/2B that has shown improvement in his game from past events. In the outfield, Nolan shows efficient feet and gains ground to make difficult plays, tracking the ball well. He gets into a low fielding position and presents his glove at the highest point to make plays, working through the ball. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and makes accurate throws to his targets. Nolan has improved in raw velocity, jumping from 56mph to 59mph and will see added velocity through band work and throwing progression as well as added strength through natural growth. At the plate, Nolan created rhythm in his swing and consistently found the barrel. He can improve offensively by developing balance throughout his swing and staying through the baseball. Exit velocity has improved from past events climbing from 57mph to 59mph. Nolan shows good intangibles on the field being coachable and hustling everywhere.

03/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Greenville, SC Nolan is a young, OF with long legs. Defensively, Nolan has active feet, he covers ground well, and he works behind fly balls properly. He has good fundamentals, a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a long arm to his target. At the plate, Nolan has a square set-up, good balance, and a level swing. He loads his hands well, make consistent contact, and he swings a level stick. Nolan can get better with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Field more out front
2. Long toss
3. Ground balls
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Bat speed
3. Let ball travel

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
