02/04/2018 - College PREP - Houston, TX Nolan is a big time athlete at 6', 170lbs and he impacts the game all over the field. His blazing speed is on display in the outfield running down deep fly balls and taking extra bases on the base paths. He gets quick jumps in the outfield and shows lateral agility that allow shim to cover plenty of ground. He fields cleanly and has quick hands to release and make strong throws. At the plate, he has a quick bat through the zone with strong hands at the contact point. His bat angle is strong and he makes consistent contact with pop to the pull side Keeping his hands above the ball will result in more line drive base hits. On the mound, he flashes great potential with a three-pitch mix include a low 80's fastball. 10-4 curve with good break and a deceptive changeup. His strength and athleticism are apparent in his tempo and intent on the mound and he uses these to repeat his delivery. Nolan is an exciting prospect with a bright future on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
