06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Nolen continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup with balance. Hands are quick and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/17/2018 - So Cal Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Nolen continued to show improvements during his time at the So Cal Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and good extension through the ball, which leads to hard contact and line drives into the gaps. Nolen can improve as a hitter by consistently keeping his head on the ball. With four more years to develop, Nolen has the time and potential to further progress his hitting skills.

12/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Thousand Oaks, CA Nolen is a young SS with a thin frame. Defensively, Nolen has efficient footwork, he presents his glove well, and he centers properly on his body. He fields in a square position, funnels the ball well, and throws with a short arm action with momentum toward his target. At the plate, Nolen has an athletic/crouched stance, a square stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a balanced set-up, an aggressive swing, and he makes square contact. Nolen can improve his overall abilities with work on the following.

Defense
1.	flowing throws
2.	Accuracy
3.	Stay relaxed
Offense
1.	Level off swing
2.	Lower 1/2

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
