12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) OKelly continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate is has really improved, now displaying outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the baseball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 2B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and present well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds/ turn of the double play. Lateral movement is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 81-84 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He throws a split finger that flashes sinking action and still is in the developmental stage. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker. He shows a high baseball IQ with great instincts

07/16/2017 - College PREP - Washington, DC OKelly is a lean 2B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.28. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 2B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp break. He throws a split finger pitch that he shows a feel for with sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, OKelly has potential with time and room to progress his game.
