06/09/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas MaCrae is a talented athlete who is fun to watch. Quick/fluid actions allow him to work naturally through the baseball as he has a quick release and zip on his throws across the diamond (84 mph). He has plus lateral range and makes the tough plays in the hole and to his glove side with ease. At the plate, this switch hitter stands in well with fluid rhythm. Quick hands whip the barrel (85 exit velocity) to and through the contact point as he extends through and drives the ball to the deep parts of the park. A special player, MaCrae has the ability to make things happen both offensively and defensively.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament MaCrae continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the MIF, he uses his quick/athletic feet well in his lateral movements as he covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Hands/feet work well together through the fielding process as he shows big play potential. Arm strength is outstanding as indicated by his top 85 mph velocity. Throws display life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he continues to show as a switch hitter. Hands are quick generating bat speed through a direct/level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, displaying gap to gap pop. MaCrae will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball tools.

06/06/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas MaCrae continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.18 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are at a high level. He has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions and shows big play potential in the MIF. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws to his target. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He shows a level swing path. The baseball jumps off the bat (82 exit velocity) when centered. MaCrae has a bright future ahead of himself.

12/27/2016 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic MaCrae continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays quick, athletic actions. He uses his athletic feet well in his lateral movements with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. Hands/feet work well together through the fielding process. Throws display life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he has improved his hitting/power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick creating bat speed through a direct/level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 6 for 8 with a 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard on the diamond. With 3 years to further develop, MaCrae has great upside with time and room to progress his game.

11/20/2016 - College PREP - Pearland, TX Kendrick is an athletic (2019 grad) R/R SS who can pick it. Defensively, he displays active pre-pitch footwork and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. He works around the GB and into a square/athletic fielding position. Hands are soft as he funnels to a smooth transfer/exchange. Offensively, this righty shows a closed setup with a solid base. He takes an aggressive hack and barrels the ball up, looking to drive the middle of the field. More power potential is there with more use of his lower 1/2. This athletic MIF has skills and will only continue to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
