12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Oliver continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American showcase. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph. Slider displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Cutter is hard with tight spin and short break. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Oliver is a 2026 3B/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 3B, starts in a relaxed ready position, with quick feet, and works behind the baseball. Closes distance on batted balls and has a clean transfer. His release is synched up and keeps working towards his target. Showed ability to throw from multiple arm angles with an arm velocity up to 74mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and has a loose/clean arm stroke. He gets a good glove tuck and rotates to his target. A 3-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 76mph with good movement, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 innings of work, he punched out 4 hitters and only allowed 1 hit. At the plate, he sets up in an upright and square stance with high hands. Has a controlled load, with activated hands, and showed good barrel control. Showed good extension as he hit balls consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph during BP. Overall, Oliver is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Oliver is a 2026 3B/RHP prospect who showed well during the National World Series. In the field, Oliver showed athletic actions, with smooth footwork, and creates good fielding angles. He works from right to left as he centers the baseball and fields from a square fielding position. Has a low funnel and is synched up on his throws to first base. Made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and had an arm velocity up to 74mph. At the plate, he hits from a relaxed stance and showed quick hands. He works to get his pitch as he sprayed balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He gathers over the rubber, with a good rear hip coil, and works with good direction down the mound. He challenges hitters with a FB that topped out at 74mph with tailing action, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth and plus command. In live action, he struck out 2 batters and induced soft contact. Overall, Oliver is a hard working prospect who has the skillset to further develop on the baseball field.

03/20/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Trenton, NJ Oliver continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth /fluid actions. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Feet are active and attacks ball, playing through with his body. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-71 mph with sink. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/29/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Augusta, NJ Oliver is a 2B/RHP who will graduate in 2026. A young and developing player who has plenty of time/room to add strength to frame. In the infield, he works around baseball, with good direction towards target, and ability to make routine plays. Long/loose arm action, with a high 3/4 arm angle, and made accurate/on-line throws with an arm velocity up to 68mph. Showed good footwork on his DP pivots. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target and works with good direction towards plate. Throws a FB that sat 68-72mph with late life, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. A right-handed hitter who hits from an athletic and open stance. Starts with a good hand load, with good balance, and a fast bat through hitting zone. A flat barrel path enables him to make consistent contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
