11/03/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Orlando is an intriguing prospect with a unique skill set as a left-handed hitting shortstop. He is a smooth, natural defender with very sure hands and a clean, quick release. He has plenty of online carry to his throws across the diamond (97 mph raw arm strength) and can make throws from different angles. Orlando makes it look easy in the field. At the plate, he takes an aggressive left-handed hack with intent. He has loft to his stroke and is most comfortable turning on balls and driving them from the right-center gap around to the right field line. He has some power and his quick hands deliver the barrel well. Overall, Orlando has a chance to be an impact bat who plays in the middle of the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
