09/14/2014 - College PREP - Azusa, CA Oscar is a thin, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Oscar stands over the rubber well, he separates on time, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He works on a downhill plane, lands with a proper stride, and finishes in a good position. More arm speed and loosening his arm action some will improve mound effectiveness. Defensively, Oscar moves well to the ball, he centers it properly, and delivers the ball with a long arm action to his target. Oscar will need to become more aggressive to the ball, play more through, and quicken his exchange for defense to get better. At the plate, Oscar has a still head, he swings in good rhythm, and he throws his hands directly to the ball. He uses his lower body well and finds the barrel on the bat. Hitting numbers can improve if Oscar can loosen his actions, stay on the ball longer, and get more extension through the baseball.
