11/22/2020 - All-In Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Owen has progressed nicely and made great strides in his game since we last saw him back in 2018. Footspeed has improved as he now runs his 60 yard dash in 7.13. At 3B, he has active prep and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He has good lateral actions to his glove-side and backhand. Hands are soft with a clean exchange to throw. As a hitter, this righty shows a balanced/simple setup with smooth rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack with + bat speed, connecting and creating hard contact with line-drives back up the middle of the field. Even more power potential is there as he works to create more extension through contact. Ness (2023 grad) has tools with upside on the diamond.

02/10/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Owen is a thin, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Owen moves well laterally, he has soft hands, and he fields in a low position. He gets rid of the ball quickly, he has a loose arm action, and throws with momentum toward his target. On the mound, Owen has good balance; he keeps his eyes on his target, and works down in the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Owen has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and good balance. He is a strong hitter with a short swing and he can spray to all fields. Owen can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
