01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Parker continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. He shows off his athletic abilities on his of the double play feeds / turn. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup and an aggressive approach. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-74 mph with arm side run. Control is well above average as he throws strikes, locating to both sides of the plate. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/19/2017 - College PREP - West Harrison (NYC), NY Parker is a thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Parker covers ground well, his hands are playable, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He makes plays, feeds the double play nicely, and throws with a long arm action with consistency to his target. Defense can get better if Parker can avoid stabbing, play more through the ball, and raise his arm slot. On the mound, Parker stands over the rubber well, he works in good rhythm, and repeats his delivery. He separates on-time, lands with a proper length, and lands in a square position. Pitching can improve with more finish, and extension on his pitches. Offensively, Parker has a square set-up, proper stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He is a strong hitter with good balance, fast bat speed, and he uses his lower body. A shorter stroke and more direct barrel to the ball can help hitting spike. Parker is a young/raw player with a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
