11/08/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Germantown (Memphis), TN Parker showed only as a catcher and continues to show progress / improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now showing solid hitting / power abilities through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to keep hands inside the ball and has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.06. He gets rid of the baseball quickly through a quick release with throws displaying accuracy and on line carry through his target. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level.

11/16/2014 - National Tryout - Germantown (Memphis), TN Parker continues to show as a C/OF at the event. In the OF, defensive grade have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat. Hands are soft / sure as he presents well out front. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he works to get behind balls more and plays through with momentum to his target. Behind the plate, feet work in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Throws are accurate, flashing carry with pop times continuing to drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Receiving / blocking skills show as playable tools at the next level as he continues to develop and gets more reps. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side through an aggressive approach. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time work, keeps hands inside the ball to utilize all fields and levels out swing path. Power numbers will improve as he learns to utilize his lower half more aggressively.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Parker is an athletic catcher that has a lot of upside. Behind the dish he has quick feet, receives with soft / sure hands, and is agile when blocking. His balance is strong and he stays quiet with his setup. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate throws to his target with good carry. At the plate he has an open stance, good balance, and he uses his lower half well. Parker delivers the barrel with good accuracy and makes consistent contact. He has a line drive approach and tracks the ball well seeing it deep in the zone. Should continue to develop power as he gets older and will be a solid hitter at the next level.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Parker continues to show as a young catcher with a ton of potential. He plays hard and shows some leadership traits as he controls the game. Pop times were in the 2.10 range with accuracy / carry / consistency on his throws. Receiving / blocking tools show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, hands work well through the zone and he shows a feel for the barrel, displaying gap to gap pop.

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Parker is a 2 way player who showcased as a C and OF. Behind the dish Parker has firm hands, a good setup, and gives a good target. He has a quick exchange and shows a strong and accurate arm. In the infield he has sure hands, active feet, and playable range. He fields the ball out in front and plays through the ball well. At the plate he has an aggressive approach. He wants to make something happen with each at bat and is consistent in making solid contact. Has potential power and with more barrel accuracy could be a dangerous hitter at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
