Official Scouting Report

10/01/2017 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Patrick is a young, two-way prospect with a strong lower half that translates well on the mound and behind the plate. He shows solid bat to ball skills with the type of approach at the plate that will allow him to put the ball in play consistently. He shows a patient approach to let the ball travel and work to all fields, willingly driving the ball to right. He has a level path that leads to plenty of line drive contact that will translate to plenty of base hits. On the mound, he shows a bulldog mentality, attacking hitters aggressively with his fastball. He complements the fastball with two breaking balls, an 11-5 curveball and a harder, sharper slider that shows good tilt and tighter break. Behind the dish, he receives well to help out his pitchers and is a willing blocker, getting down to smother balls in the dirt. Improving his footwork will lead to quicker actions to receive, block and throw, making him a complete defender. Patrick is an intriguing prospect who we will continue to watch as he progresses.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
