06/14/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Patrick is a young, 2-way player who will graduate in 2016. Defensively at 1st base, Patrick has sure hands, good body control, and he shows good footwork to the ball. He fields out front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a good arm action to his target. If Patrick can lighten his footwork, field out front, and add arm strength, INF skills will improve. On the mound, Patrick stands over the rubber well, he has a fluid arm action, and he separates on time. He has a consistent release point, solid off-speed pitches, and he competes in the zone. Mound effectiveness will further improve if Patrick can avoid throwing across his body, lengthen his stride, and work on his glove side lead. Offensively, Patrick has a balanced set-up, good barrel accuracy, and average bat speed. He swings in good rhythm, and has some pop in his bat. Offensive numbers can get better if Patrick can use more lower 1/2, get his front foot down sooner, and live his hands.
