02/20/2021 - Mid-Atlantic Offensive Skills Weekend - Columbia, MD Patrick is a 3B prospect who worked hard during the Mid-Atlantic Skills Weekend. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and produces solid contact. Working through a more level swing path can help Patrick create more consistent contact. Overall, Patrick is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/05/2020 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend Patrick is a coachable 3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Offensive Skills Weekend. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a closed stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and hits against a strong front side. He stays direct through the ball and produces consistent line drives. Working a smoother rhythm into his load can help Patrick barrel up more baseballs. Overall, Patrick is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/30/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Wilmington, DE Patrick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

02/22/2020 - Baseball Factory Mid-Atlantic Offensive Skills Weekend - Columbia, MD (Ages 14-18) In just two short months, Patrick showed an increased exit velocity by 9 MPH! At the Offensive Skills weekend with Baseball Factory he showed barrel feel and a connected approach with upper and lower working together. He had a square and athletic setup and a short stride with his hands moving back to initiate the swing. His balance was centered through the swing, which led to the said barrel feel, and hit off a firm front side. During the weekend, work on top hand/ bottom hand drills and becoming even more direct with his bat path was a priority. Continued growth will come as he emphasizes these learned drills and implements even more rhythm!

12/29/2019 - National Tryout - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Patrick continues to shine on the diamond. He did show as a catcher for the first time at the event. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.66 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more strength through a line toss program. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/07/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 14-18) Patrick is a 3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball to his pull side. Taking a level swing path can help Patrick improve as a hitter. Overall, Patrick is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
