07/17/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Patrick is a C who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with strength present. Behind the dish he shows athletic actions and active feet. He works to catch outer half of baseball as he works his thumb under baseball. Sets up in a square secondary stance, with an easy sway, and has a high exchange. Creates good blocking angles and is quick to get down. Does a good job of gaining ground to second base as he made on-line throws consistently. Recorded an arm velocity up to 81mph with a best pop time of 2.06 seconds. A right-handed hitter he hits from an athletic and open stance. Smooth timing, with activated hands, and gets extended through the baseball. A flat barrel path enables him to hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph. With another year of development, we foresee Patrick having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/04/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Patrick is a C/OF who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Behind the dish, showed fluid footwork, with flexible hips, and tracks ball to mitt. Sets up in a low/square primary position, with an easy sway, and works his thumb under and keeping balls in the zone. Tries to create good blocking angles and uses his chest to deaden the baseball. He gains ground to second base, with a clean transfer, and creates momentum to his target. Made accurate and on-line throws to second base from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 79mph with a pop time of 2.19 seconds. In the OF, gets good first step reads and flips his hips to run down balls. Made high 1-hand catches and created good momentum towards his target. Does a good job of keeping his throws low. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance. Has good timing to his swing, with activated hands, and he hits balls where they are pitched. He hit line drives to all fields. As he continues to develop and mature, we foresee Patrick having a bright future on the baseball field.

11/06/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plano (DFW), TX Patrick is a C/OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with strength present. Behind the dish, showed quick/fluid footwork, with flexible hips, and tracks ball to mitt. Sets up in a low secondary position, with an easy sway, working his thumb under and keeping balls in the zone. Creates good blocking angles with ability to sink hips and uses his chest to deaden the baseball. He gains ground to second base, with a clean transfer, and has a quick release. Made accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 75mph with a best pop time of 2.20 seconds. In the OF, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and takes aggressive routes to batted balls. Fields from a square fielding position with a clean exchange off his left foot. Made on-line throws into infield with good momentum towards his target. At the plate, he hits from a tall and even stance. Has a good bat angle at contact with with ability to barrel the baseball. Gets on-plane early as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Patrick having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plano (DFW), TX Patrick is a projectable (5'11"/145) catcher who shows quickness on defense. With the bat, this strong righty shows an open stance with good rhythm and active hands to load. Bat angle is solid when approaching the baseball and he loads into the back leg well with proper weight distribution. Behind the dish, Patrick gets to a good set up position and has quiet actions. He bodies up balls in the dirt with solid blocking angles to keeping the ball in front. He works from a high 3/4 arm slot when throwing and is consistent and accurate with his throws. Patrick is a solid all-around 2024 catching prospect with room to grow. With continued development and training, he can really grow into a solid prospect.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Patrick is a coachable C/OF prospect out of McKinney, TX who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the dish, Patrick sits in an athletic stance and receives with a quiet glove. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to the 2B bag. He moves well to block and keeps dirt balls in front of him. Long tossing can help Patrick build up his arm strength. Offensively, this RHH sets up in a square stance and shows good plate discipline. His hips and hands work well together as he barrels up baseballs to produce solid line drives. Patrick can create more consistent contact by keeping his head on the ball throughout his swing. Overall, Patrick is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Patrick is a C prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to add strength throughout. Primary C, showed efficient footwork and an easy sit. Sets up in a low fielding position, with an easy sway, working his thumb under and keeping balls in the zone. Creates good blocking angles, while tucking his chin, and uses his chest to smother the baseball. He gains ground to second base, with clean transfers, and has a quick release. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm action, and an arm velocity up to 76mph with a best pop time of 2.13 seconds. A right-handed hitter, hits from an athletic and square stance. Keeps eyes and shoulders level and keeps his weight between his knees. Has a good bat angle and a middle of the field approach. A flat barrel path as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 74mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see him making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
