Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1BPosition Projection

01/21/2018 - College PREP - Delray Beach, FL Patrick once again showed strong hitting skills and serious pop in his bat. He stands in the box with an open stance, he swings in good rhythm, and can hit to all fields. He has fast bat speed, makes hard contact, and has plus pop. At 1st base, Patrick is a big target, he makes plays on balls hit his way, and throws with some accuracy to his target.

11/12/2017 - College PREP - Davie, FL Patrick is a big, strong 1B prospect who is a scary hitter no matter what team he plays for. He has lightening in his bat with the ability to crush moonshots as the ball absolutely jumps off his bat. He has quick, strong hands through the zone with great bat speed as he looks to punish any pitch in the zone. He has endless power to the pull side and crushes the ball to all fields (97mph exit velo). A direct path to the ball will result in more consistent contact and more towering shots. Patrick is an exciting hitter any team would love to have.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14) Patrick is a big 1st baseman who also pitches. At 1st base, he has firm hands, active feet, and good bag awareness. He is a big target who hustles and works hard on picks. At the plate, he has a tall setup, keeps hands back, and takes a short stride. He has good balance and uses his lower half well. He has a lot of raw power and with better timing should become a ga-to-gap hitter. On the mound, Patrick has a lot of untapped potential. He uses his lower half well to drive off the mound. He has a good balance point and good arm action. His fastball stays down and he pounds the zone with strikes. With more secondary pitches, Patrick should become a nice option on the mound at the next level.

05/27/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Patrick is a big, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Patrick has okay hands and feet, and he has a quick arm action to his target. On the hill, Patrick has a short arm action, good direction toward home, and a strong lower 1/2. Offensively, Patrick has a square set-up, good balance, and he tracks the ball well. He hits to the opposite field and makes consistent contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Field out front
2. Backhand
3. Long toss
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Separation
3. Avoid throwing against body
Offense
1. Rhythm
2. Lower 1/2
3. Level off swing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
