Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

07/12/2021 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Patrick is a 2022 RHP out of Wareham, MA. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 68 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2022 prospect as he continues to develop.

04/18/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Patrick is a 2022 RHP. Medium frame thin build with strength present and plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher who strides in line and extends through on his pitches. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and pounded the zone during his bullpen. FB was up to 64mph with some arm side run. Mixes in a CB with 11/5 shape and some tilt and a changeup with FB arm speed and some depth. Right-handed hitter with an upright and athletic stance. Controlled load with square stride and balanced stance into contact. Has some looseness to his hands who flashed some power potential pull side with a bat exit velocity of 75mph. 2 years of continued growth and development will bode well for his opportunities to play at the next level.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Patrick is a lean RHP/OF who will graduate in 2022. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will continue to improve as he improves foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 49-51 mph with arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Patrick has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
