11/06/2016 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Patrick is a tall and strong right handed hitting catcher who will graduate in 2018. Offensively, he showed good balance throughout his swing, which was level and direct to the ball. His lower 1/2 and backside worked very well, as he created good torque, allowing him to generate power to both gaps. Behind the dish, he blocked balls well using efficient footwork and a low chin/chest. Arm works well for the position, as he made accurate and quick throws down to 2nd base (2.07 low pop time). Patrick has a good baseball frame and shows the potential to play at the next level with continued hard work and refinement of his game on both sides of the ball.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
