12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Patrick is continuing to show better athleticism and baseball skill from event to event with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he worked to his launch on-time and delivered the barrel to contact keeping his hands inside the ball. His actions were quiet and he hit off a stiff front side to generate good leverage. His lower half showed decent drive and he should continue to work on his fluidity hand activation to load. Behind the plate, he received with a sure glove out in front and worked his feet to throw with body momentum to 2B. His pop times were as low as 2.38 and as he cleans his exchange and strengthens his arm he will see those times dramatically decrease. All in all - Patrick is a promising ball player that has time on his side to improve his game for high school ball next fall.

09/20/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Woodbridge (DC), VA Patrick continues to make great strides in his game. Offensively, this athletic righty stands in well with good balance and rhythm in his hands. He whips the barrel on a level path with speed as the ball jumps off of his barrel to all parts of the field. Even more power potential is there with more lower 1/2 drive. Behind the plate, Patrick tracks pitches into a soft mitt with good flexion. He works well laterally around pitches in the dirt and centers the ball off of his chest. Exchange is clean as he makes accurate throws down to 2B (pop times of 2.69). Only a 2020 grad - Stewart is a hard worker who has s bright future ahead of him in the game.

05/25/2013 - Little League® Experience - S. Williamsport Patrick has above average arm strength/accuracy, soft hands and showed good athleticism fielding. Footwork /speed/lateral movement is an area that Patrick can improve upon. At the plate is where Patrick excels. He displayed above average hitting ability and power. Patrick showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields but he tends to fall forward with his weight. Let the ball travel. Patrick is a good teammate with a great attitude.

05/26/2012 - Little League® Experience Patrick Stewart is a 2019 graduate who plays catcher and also pitches. Behind the plate Patrick has firm hands when receiving and a very stable set up. He has a clean release and stays in line when making throws. Would like to see him work on his blocking skills to polish his game behind the plate. At the plate Patrick has an athletic and balanced set up. He has a good load to start his swing and uses his lower half well. He has average bat speed and make consistent contact. His bat path is uphill so would like to see him level his swing out a bit to make better contact. On the mound Patrick throws his fastball for strikes and gets to a very good balance point that allows him to have a good tempo and repeat his delivery with consistency. Patrick has a brigh future ahead of him on the mound and with more experience and innings, he should compete at a high level for years to come.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
