Official Scouting Report

02/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Patrick is currently a middle infielder and projects as such at the higher levels. He looks physically stronger since the last time we saw him. At the plate, he begins with an open stance and gets to a stride that is on-time. Displays a fast bat with a direct path to the baseball with proper lower half engagement. Shows the ability to make hard contact to all parts of the field. Defensively, his hands and feet work well together and he displays pocket awareness. Moves well around the bag with his feeds and turns.

08/22/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Patrick is turning into a solid defensive player up the middle displaying effortless mobility from side to side. Arm plays at 74mph with carry and accuracy. At the plate, he delivers the barrel consistently and hits the ball where it's pitched. As he continues to build up his lower half body strength, we will see even more out of this 2023 graduate from a strong Redondo Union program.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Patrick is a 2023 2B. Medium frame wiry/twitchy build who should add strength as he matures. Primary 2B, he has good timing mechanically as he moves into fielding position and is very solid on movement plays. He keeps his momentum during his approach to the ball as he works his angles and is confident in his glove. Accurate arm from a 3/4 arm slot that will continue to develop. A right-handed hitter, starts with an open stance. There is some quickness to the wrists with solid bat to ball skills. He has a good middle/line drive approach and swings with intent. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him playing at the next level.

12/06/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Patrick is a 2B prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Patrick shows fluid footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Working on reading hops can help Patrick pick ground balls cleaner. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with good extension, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Patrick can generate more pop off the barrel by continuing to develop his strength. Overall, Patrick is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
