01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament With his physical 6'2", 200-pound frame, Paul commands attention the moment he walks on the baseball field. At this year's UAAAPS Tournament he again showed that his present strength leads to one of the most sought-after tools in the scouting world - left-handed power. Paul took his usual loud batting practice with lots of hard contact to the pull side despite a strong wind blowing directly from the right field wall to home plate. Come game time, the wind had subsided and Paul deposited a pitch well over the RF fence for a HR. Defensively, Paul showed his athleticism in the outfield with sure hands, rhythm and a strong, accurate arm. This is an exciting prospect to continue to follow as an impact bat from the left side is always in demand.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Paul continues to show as a prospect on the diamond and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential are at a pro level. He has a powerful swing with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. He utilizes his lower half well and has strength in his swing as he will hit and hit with power at the next level. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws display life, accuracy and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. With 2 years to further develop, Paul has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts.

07/13/2016 - College PREP - Washington, DC Paul is a tall, strong OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.96. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with tremendous power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (98 mph exit velocity) and work through a level, aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid, displaying smooth, fluid actions. He utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground. He takes proper routes and angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive in working to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Paul has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
