01/14/2011 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2011 Paul is a RHP with a tall, solid, and athletic frame that is well suited for his position. Delivery is sound showing good tempo and rhythm. He displays solid mechanics that allows his arm action to work loosely to the plate. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his top velocity of 84 mph. Fastball shows a range of 82-84 mph with late arm side run. Changeups are his best off speed pitch showing plus feel for with arm side run. Breaking ball displays sweeping break and is erratic with pitch. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes and mixes pitches well. At the event, he had 4 quality innings and dominated on the mound at times. Pappaceno has a huge upside and a lot of potential. His stock on the mound will rise quickly if more arm strength is developed nevertheless he will still get a lot of attention from the collegiate coaches.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
