01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Paul is a 2018 RHP who is a fiery competitor - a bulldog on the mound. He attacks hitters with a low 80s fastball, big breaking curve and change. He works fast and gets ahead of hitters with his mix of stuff. His breaking ball has 11-5 shape and he has the confidence to throw it any count. This fresh northeast arm is an intriguing guy to follow as strike throwers who compete are always in demand.

12/13/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Madison (NYC), NJ This talented RHP continues to develop. He throws a 'heavy' ball - now topping out at 84 mph coming from a quick arm action. He works downhill and repeats well. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with sharp action and will prove to be a solid swing and miss pitch. He works the ball to both sides of the dish and finishes complete with extension on his follow through. As a hitter - Paul remains compact throughout his swing. He engages his lower 1/2 and barrels the ball up, driving it with some pop. Paul is a reliable righty who will challenge hitters and compete when he toes the rubber.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Paul is an athletic RHP that also showcased at 1B. On the mound he gets to a good balance point and repeats his mechanics. He has a solid 3 pitch mix that includes a fastball with arm side run, a slider with late break and good depth, and a change that cuts making him a solid option on the mound. At 1B Paul has a quick first step, fields out front of his body with firm hands, and works well around the bag with his footwork. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate throws with carry. Offensively, he has a smooth load to start his swing, good balance, and he tracks the ball well. He stays in the middle of the field with his approach and he can spray the ball to all fields.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
