12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14)
Paxton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 8. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard to be the best player he can be, and plays with a lot of energy.
11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14)
Paxton is a hardworking OF/1B prospect who has a versatile skill set. In the field, Paxton plays with effective footwork and covers a wide range. He presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic, square position. Paxton has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He shows consistently online throws. Offensively, Paxton has an athletic, open stance with a centered balance. He has a load with a short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Paxton has an on-plane swing path consistently landing the barrel to the baseball. He is a contact type hitter who has a line drive approach. Overall, Paxton is a great teammate who has potential to advance his game with development.
07/18/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Highland Park (DFW), TX
Paxton is an OF/1B who will graduate in 2023. Defensively in the OF, he takes aggressive routes/angles as he tracks down fly balls. He works behind the ball and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. Over at 1B, he shows efficient footwork with awareness around the bag. He creates good angles to the GB and fires throws on line to his target. With the bat, Payton has fluid rhythm to load. He finds his barrel and gets extension as he consistently drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.
