06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South This is a truly talented two-way prospect who has the skills to play and make an impact at the next level. At the plate, Paxton takes an extremely aggressive hack and has impressive pop especially to the pull side. He has quick hands and a quick path to the ball, getting the bat through the zone with force, he makes lots of hard contact. On the mound, Paxton has a live arm that gives his pitches great action and a controlled, repeatable delivery that leads to very good control. He features a fastball that sits in the high 80's with late life, a breaking ball with tight break, a changeup with late run and a knuckleball with sink. This repertoire, combined with good control and an advanced feel for pitching makes Paxton a good bet to make an impact at the next level.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Paxton is a strong/athletic (6'1"/210) corner infielder who can swing the stick. Offensively, this righty stands in well with good balance and a strong base. He takes an aggressive hack with quick hands, squaring the ball up consistently. The ball absolutely explodes off of his bat as he has game changing power (exit velocity = 100 mph). Pitchers had a difficult time against him as he went an impressive 3 for 6 with a triple, 2 doubles and 2 RBI's. He will be a sure fit in the clean-up role with his knack to drive the ball to the deepest parts of the park. At 3B - Wallace works athletically into a square fielding position behind the GB. He gathers smoothly and gets rid of the ball quickly with strong throws across the diamond. Paxton is fun to watch and has a very bright future ahead of him in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
