12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Payton is a C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. Behind the plate, Payton sits in an athletic stance and tracks the ball into his glove. He throws with a loose arm and keeps his throws strong through the 2B bag. Increasing his blocking range can help Payton improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a square stride. He gets into a small load and shows plus barrel control, driving the ball with solid pop to his pull side. Payton can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. Overall, Payton is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
