10/14/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Pedro is an athletically built, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Pedro has soft hands, efficient footwork, and he sits in squarely. He covers the 5 hole blocking, keeps his head down, and has a clean exchange with a short/consistent arm to 2nd base. On the mound, Pedro has a loose arm circle, he gets good extension on his pitches, and he finishes in a complete position toward his target. Offensively, Pedro has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and stands in with good balance. He has a direct/level barrel through the ball and uses some lower body. Pedro can further improve if he can work on the following.

Catching
1. Sit lower
2. Release
3. Arm action
Pitching
1. Raise elbow-throwing
2. Control
3. CB
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Timing
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
