01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Peryn Bland is an athletic shortstop in the 2024 class. He continues to show his prospect qualities and make improvements on his game. Overall his tools continue to round out and its evident in his 86 mph exit velocity and 85 mph raw velocity. These tools combined with a projectable frame make him a favorable prospect to compete at the next level. On the field he shows plus range at the shortstop position with a clean exchange from glove to hand. At the plate he makes consistent hard contact. Peryn has an explosive line-drive type of swing. His hitters mindset is what will carry his tools to the next level. The aggressiveness and intent he possesses at the plate will make him an offensive stand-out.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Peryn continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and stays inside the ball through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents out front. Throws are accurate with carry (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Peryn Bland is a smooth and agile 2024 SS prospect out of Mississippi (Meridian HS). Shines in the infield with smooth actions from start to finish. Fields the ball low and out front, brings it to center and gets rid of it smoothly and seamlessly. Good lateral movement and glove technique round out this Shortstop. At the plate he showcased a consistent approach, reaching base safely in 5 of his 10 PAs (3 H, 2 BBs). Saw a ton of pitches, has a very good eye and doesn't get cheated offensively. Smooth hands, good lower 1/2 and flashed some Gap power. Bland has a ton of upside moving forward.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
