04/02/2017 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Peter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.09. Arm strength has improved (83 mph velocity) with throws displaying life, accuracy and on line carry. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the dish. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered, displaying gap-to-gap pop.

04/10/2016 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Peter is a stocky/athletic (5'11"/165) catcher who has a solid all-around skill-set. Behind the dish, he sits in well with flexion and presents a low target. He is quick laterally and centers up pitches in the dirt. He works in-line toward his target at 2B with throws on the bag - pop times of 2.32. Counting to work on quickening his transfer/exchange along with staying on top of his throws will both help to lower pop times. As a hitter - Peter displays a square setup with good balance. He has rhythm to load, whips the barrel with quick hands and engages his lower 1/2 well. He squares the ball up and hits line-drives consistently. Peter is a solid prospect (2018 grad) who is will only continue to progress over the next couple of years.

06/13/2015 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Peter showed consistent actions on all sides of the ball and competed at a very high level against strong competition at the Omaha Baseball Factory National World Series. Offensively, he hit with activated hands and fluidity through the zone. He got his backside to fire through contact to generate bat speed and worked to keep the barrel on a level path. In the OF, he worked his feet and made plays with a sure glove. Behind the dish, he was aggressive to throw behind runners and had good confidence in all of his actions. He blocked well and worked to move more efficiently to both right and left hand sides. In all - Peter had a sound tournament both defensively and offensively, pressuring the defense and playing the game with a bold mentality.

03/22/2015 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Peter continues to work hard on the diamond. Offensively, this RHH shows loose actions with rhythm in his hands. He whips the barrel through the zone, connects and drives the ball on a line. He creates extension through contact and uses the whole field. Behind the dish, he sits in well and tracks the ball into his mitt, framing well. He is quick around pitches in the dirt, centering/deadening the ball off of his chest. Pop time is now at 2.37 from a clean exchange. Quickening his transfer/exchange will help times to continue to drop. In the OF, he moves well laterally and secures the ball. He gathers well and gains ground, playing through the ball toward his target. Developing a quicker first step with better routes/angles will help to improve abilities in the OF. This 2018 grad has skills and will make an impact in the upcoming years. The improvements he shows us each time we see him are impressive, and they speak to his hard work and approach to the game.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Peter is a versatile player who does well behind the plate and in the outfield. Defensively, as a catcher, Peter receives well and shows good blocking technique but needs to quicken his exchange to reflect his good footwork when throwing. He covers a ton of ground in the OF and makes plays in space yet needs to cleanup his exchange when throwing. Offensively, Peter has an athletic setup with good, quick hands, finds the barrel often and shows a good load but could use more rhythm when loading. Peter is a very good athlete and is a solid player with upside behind the plate. He has some great strength and size for his age (5'11, 160 as an incoming freshman) and we anticipate him having a great freshman season in high school.

03/16/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Bowie, MD Peter continues to show improvements in his game and did so at his last workout in Bowie. Behind the plate, Peter has quick feet, good body control, and he sits in low. He has proper footwork, receives very well, and he throws with an easy arm action to his target. In the OF, Peter has quick feet, he takes good angles to the ball, and he throws with a fluid arm action with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Peter has a square set-up, an activated load, and a level swing. He swings in good rhythm, and gets proper extension through the ball. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Finish throws
2. Blocking
3. Long toss
Outfield
1. More sure actions
2. Throwing
3. Quicken feet
Offense
1. Shorten swing
2. More direct hands to ball

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Peter did a nice job in all aspects of his game while at Pirate City. He cut over a half second off his 60 yard dash since we last saw him a few months ago. Behind the plate he has an athletic setup and active feet. He can work on his footwork/exchange on his throws, as well as his blocking, as he has a tendency at times to try and pick the ball off the ground when blocking. In the outfield Peter is sure handed, he has efficient footwork, and he stays square to the ball while showing sure hands. Areas for improvement include getting behind and playing through the ball and lateral quickness/agility. Peter also shows a lot of potential at the plate. He has an athletic setup, solid load, centered balance, good use of his lower half, and good bat speed. His timing is consistent as he has rhythm through a level bat path. Because he is a good hitter, he has a tendency to sometimes chase pitches up in the zone, so he can work on being more disciplined in his pitch selection. He is a vocal leader defensively at both positions, and he showed well in the games, batting .500 in the tournament with a HR. Peter is very coachable and will be a player to watch as he gets older.

03/24/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Bowie, MD Peter is a tall and solid, 2-way player who catches and plays OF. Behind the plate, Peter has soft hands, quick feet, and he fields in a low position. He has smooth actions, gets momentum toward his target, and he throws with accuracy and carry from a short / loose arm action. In the OF, Peter has soft hands, active feet, and he fields aggressively. He plays through, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Peter has a square set-up, good balance, and he throws his hands well. He has a level swing, a middle approach, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Play lower
2. Blocking
3. Throwing
Outfield
1. Follow through
2. Use lower body
Offense
1. Load
2. Rhythm / Timing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
