Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/CPosition Projection

08/02/2011 - Vero Beach Pro Select Training and Competition - 2011 (Pre-HS) Peter is a 2017 graduate with an athletic/solid body structure who is a RHP and plays C. On the mound he has projectable size and tools. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, has loose arm action and has good balance. His upper body is a little too upright, as he needs to get his chest out over his knee more. Also Peter is inconsistent with his front side which hurts his accuracy. With a few adjustments to these areas, Peter could be very good on the mound. Behind the plate Peter displayed an athletic/low/square setup, his footwork was in line and his throws were right on the bag. He needs to improve blocking the ball and he needs to shorten his arm action when throwing as a Catcher. At the plate, Peter showed a lot of potential. He has a balanced/square setup, hands back load, short/square stride, stable balance, swing path is on plane, timing is good, makes consistent/square contact and he uses the whole field. If he lets his backside go a little more and finish more with the lower half he can be a very good hitter at the next level. Peter has all the natural talents to be a very good player in high school. If he puts the time in and works on his weaknesses, then he will continue to find success in baseball.

03/27/2011 - Interactive Video Program - Ashburn (DC), VA Peter is a young RHP / catcher with a strong lower 1/2, and an athletic frame. On the mound, Peter has a loose arm action, a tall balance point, and he works in good rhythm. He has a good idea for his age, he keeps his shoulders level, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. Behind the plate, Peter has soft / sure hands, playable feet, and a good catchers build. He throws with average arm strength from a long / loose arm action. Offensively, Peter has a square / athletic set-up, short stride, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, good barrel accuracy, and he makes good use of his lower 1/2. Peter is a projectable young player and he can get better by working on the below.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
