02/19/2018 - College PREP - Brentwood (Long Island), NY Peter is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and 1B. In the OF, Peter moves well to the ball, feet are active, and he fields low. He has soft hands, plays through well, and follows his throws with accuracy to his target. If Peter can loosen his arm action, improve extension, and quicken feet, abilities in the OF will get better. At 1B, Peter has soft hands, he moves well laterally, and has okay footwork around the bag. He gains some ground and throws with accuracy to his target. Peter can get better at 1st base by loosening his shoulder, finishing his throws, and quickening his footwork. Offensively, Peter has an athletic set-up, he swings in good rhythm, and he stands in well balanced. He has a quiet head, fast bat speed, and he finds the barrel consistently. If Peter can loosen his grip, transfer his weight better, and use more lower 1/2, hitting numbers can spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
