Defensively, he was engaged and showed the ability to make the routine play consistently while working on his footwork around the bag. He made accurate throws to his target on double play balls and PFP flips. Offensively, he used a tall open stance with a small load to work through the ball with good bat speed. He showed power potential by driving balls deep into the outfield. At 1B, Peyton makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Getting into a lower, more athletic fielding position can help Peyton field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He tracks the ball well and makes solid contact. Peyton can barrel up more baseballs by taking a more level swing path. On the mound, Peyton gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target and finishes with a controlled landing. Peyton shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 53mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 46-48mph. Changeup sits from 46-47mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Peyton increase his pitch velocity. With six more years to develop, Peyton has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/08/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Peyton continues to work hard on his skills. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced setup with patience waiting for a pitch he likes. He swings on a level path, connects and hits consistent line-drives to all parts of the field. Relaxing/loosening his grip will allow for more bat whip increasing pop off of the barrel. Defensively at 1B, he hustles into a square fielding position and tracks GB's into his mitt. He makes the plays and gathers well. Getting into a lower fielding position, fielding the ball more out in front while developing his footwork/agility will aid in his defensive development. Only a 2026 grad - Coakley still has a ton of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

12/14/2019 - Florida Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Peyton is an athletic and talented RHP prospect. On the bump, Peyton separates on time, he keeps his eyes on his target, and tries to work down hill in his delivery. He needs to find a balance point, keep a strong front side, and extend through his target. He commands his fastball and throws it down in the zone. Continuing to develop a change up will significantly improve his ability on the bump. At the plate, Peyton starts in a squared and athletic stance. He loads his hands back into the drive position, he rotates his backside, and looks to hit the ball to all fields. He needs to continue to get to balance, attack the inside part of the ball, and keep the barrel on plane. Peyton will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/29/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Sanford (Orlando), FL Peyton is a young, 2-way player with a solid frame. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
