01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Peyton continues to show improvements his baseball abilities at the Pre-Season All American. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.01 with accuracy / carry (84 carry velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Peyton has a high skill set and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

11/15/2020 - All-In Membership - Germantown (Memphis), TN Peyton is a (5'8"/160) R/R 2-way player as a C/RHP. With the bat, this righty shows a square setup with centered balance and rhythm to load. Swing is level to and through the zone as he connects and hits line drives back up the middle of the field. The ball jumps off of his barrel when centered (exit velocity = 80 mph). More power will come as he works to engage and utilize his full lower 1/2. Behind the plate, he sits in and tracks pitches into his mitt. He works hard laterally and tries to center pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Transfer is quick as he works in-line toward 2B on his throws down with pop times at 2.41. Times will continue to drop as he works to stay low to throw and strengthens his arm (long toss). On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and keeps his eyes on the target. FB tops out at 70 mph as it shows slight arm-side run. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with some depth - 57-60 mph. Working to get more glove side lead while striding and staying more directional toward the dish will help to improve effectiveness on the mound. Only a 2024 grad - Coffman has tools with still a lot of time to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
