Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Peyton is a C/RHP in the 2025 class. Behind the plate, he has effective feet and a firm target. He has a quick exchange and short arm action from a high ¾ slot. Arm has strength (84 velo/2.01 pop) and provides carry to the bag. On the mound, he uses 2 pitch mix with athletic actions. His FB touched 81 with occasional movement. His breaking pitch sat 60 with 10-4 spin. Overall, he has room to ground on the hill. At the plate, he swings with intent and likes to stay in the middle of the field. His barrel is on-plane and shows above average bat speed (86). Peyton is a two way player to follow in the 2025 class.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Peyton is an athletic C/RHP who showed as a prospect at the Preseason All American Rookie event. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.09 range with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) to his targets. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He utilizes his lower half well and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as the attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Peyton has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
