06/16/2017 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Peyton is a true team player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the USA Baseball 17U Championships. Behind the plate, Peyton shows fluid footwork and centers the ball well when blocking balls in the dirt. He shows a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and carry through 2B. His pop times sit from 1.93-2.02 seconds. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He is fluid getting into his load and he leads well with his lower half. He comes through the zone with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact which leads to great power to his pull side. Overall, Peyton is a talented C who has the skill set to perform well at the next level.

11/20/2016 - College PREP - Pearland, TX Peyton is a solid, athletic catcher who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Behind the plate, hands/feet work well together through a quick/clean transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 1.92-1.98 with accuracy and on line carry on his throws. Arm strength is excellent as indicated by his top velocity of 88 mph. He will control the running game with his feet/arm at the next level. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel, sticking well in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he gets down and around, keeping balls in front. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. Swing path is compact and displays a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Power is best shown to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Peyton has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
