12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Peyton is a coachable C/SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Peyton sits in a low stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through the 2B bag. He moves on time to block and keeps the ball in front of him. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Peyton improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a soft stride. He takes a smooth swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact to all fields. Peyton can improve as a hitter by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. Overall, Peyton is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/16/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX Peyton is an athletic C/SS prospect who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, Peyton shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, getting good carry through the 2B bag. Making more consistent throws can help Peyton improve as a C. At SS, Peyton shows fluid footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a low position and fields the ball with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Peyton can improve as a SS by taking a better prep step. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Peyton improve as a hitter. With three more years to develop, Peyton has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
