01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Peyton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a tremendous runner at 6.72. In the OF he utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process. At the plate, hands are quick (92 exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with power improving as he works to use his lower half more aggressively. Peyton has athletic abilities and is a sure player to follow.

10/07/2015 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Peyton showed very well during time in Arizona. A speedy LHH OF will make a great addition to any squad. In the OF, he takes an aggressive first step getting good reads off of the barrel. He has athletic actions and a quick exchange to fire strong throws into his target. At the plate, this lefty remains patient waiting for his pitch. He steps into the box looking to swing it and is ready to attack the first pitch FB. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and gets the barrel through the zone, pulling it down the line and getting out of the box with speed. Peyton is a skilled/versatile player who will make things happen is this his senior year.

09/13/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Oklahoma City, OK Peyton continues to show improvement in multiple areas of his game as he enters his final high school season. At the plate, this LHH hits with serious pop as he drives the ball to the gaps with his all time best 92mph exit velo. His strong hands and lower 1/2 allow him to whip his hips through, creating powerful torque. In the OF, he moves well, tracks the ball into his mitt at the highest point and makes the routine plays look easy. He takes mature angles to balls and as he gains arm strength and foot speed, he will make OF plays look even easier. Peyton is an explosive player with next level potential as he enters his senior season.

03/22/2015 - National Tryout - Oklahoma City, OK Peyton continues to show strong play ability both offensively and defensively, in his workouts with Baseball Factory. Offensively, his quick/late explode with his barrel gives way to pop to both gaps. He is very easy with his actions and quiet with his approach, allowing the ball to travel to hit it where it is pitched. He is fluid getting to his launch and was consistently on-time barreling up most pitches. Defensively, he worked with efficient feet to cut balls off, and played through fly balls to throw. He has natural ability in the OF and glided to make plays with plus foot speed - 6.8 sixty. All in all - Peyton has the desirable left handed stroke to pair with his OF ability, making him projectable at either one of the three spots.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Peyton continues to project well on the diamond. In the OF, he hustles to his right and left and tracks down fly-balls with speed. Sure hands and a clean transfer/exchange fire accurate throws into his target's chest. At the plate, this LH swinger shows a square setup with rhythm in his hands. He takes an aggressive hack to and through the zone hitting the ball where it's pitched to all parts of the field. On the mound, Ravencraft works to stay on top and drive downhill. He has a solid mound presence and keeps runners close, varying his looks. This versatile player has a solid tool-set that will provide success in this his junior year.

11/01/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures Texas Peyton had a strong showing at the Under Armour Futures event. He continues to show an advanced approach as a hitter with excellent strike zone judgment (2 walks in game action) and a line drive path. He uses the middle of the field very well and his hands control the barrel. He also flashes some power, driving a ball deep to LF during the game. As a defender Peyton uses good speed and excellent instincts to cover ground in the outfield. He fits well in CF or LF at the next level. Overall, this is a quality LH bat who knows how to get on base and will help a lot of programs at the next level.

09/21/2014 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK This athletic 2-way player continues to shine. With the bat, this LH swinger delivers the barrel on a short/compact swing path resulting in consistent, hard-hit balls. In the OF, he moves light on his feet and tracks down fly-balls with ease. He plays through the ball with quick actions and gains ground toward his target. On the bump, Peyton's arm works loose & free as he drives downhill. He keeps the ball down in the zone and will get ground ball outs. Ravencraft is versatile enough to play anywhere in the OF along with giving his team a few innings on the bump. He has worked hard to get to where he is which will soon pay off on the diamond.

07/29/2014 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Peyton continues to show as a OF/RHP at the event. In the OF, feet are light, quick as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will continue to improve as he works to read balls better off the bat for better jumps. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the baseball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-74 mph with sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

04/13/2014 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Peyton continues to work hard and progress in his game. With the bat is where he excels. He drives the barrel to and through the zone, creating pop and crushing the ball to all parts of the field. In the OF, Ravencraft works behind the ball and has a clean exchange to throw. On the bump, this RHP works in-line toward the dish and is around the zone with all of his pitches. FB still sits mid 70's while CH shows some run. Working on developing a CB will help to improve mound effectiveness. An athletic player - Peyton will make some noise with his bat.

03/02/2014 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Peyton continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, this lefty shows a well balanced approach with smooth actions. He throws his hands and drives his top hand, driving the barrel to and through the zone. He crushes the ball with the ability to spray it to all fields. In the OF, he is aggressive in coming to get the ball. He plays through the GB well and fires it into his target. On the bump, he has two pitches which he locates well. He keeps the ball down in the zone and will get a lot of ground ball outs. Continuing to develop his finish/follow through will help to improve his effectiveness on the bump. Only a 2016 grad - Peyton should find success over the next couple of years.

06/15/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Peyton is a talented young OF/RHP with good foot speed and the potential to be a solid two way player. On the mound, Peyton displays some athletic actions with some rhythm/tempo through a controlled balance point where he then strides slightly closed. He keeps his eyes on his target, has good movement on his fastball and change and should continue to work on developing better command with an in line, complete finish with chest over lead knee. As an OF, Peyton is a sure handed fielder whom catches the ball at the top with two hands. He has a good crow hop to throw, improved his glove to hand transfer and should continue to work on improving his first step, reads off the bat and routes/angles to the ball. At the plate, Peyton uses a tall, open stance with a square stride and centered balance before launching to the ball. Long at times, his swing recovers with good bat speed and barrel accuracy to hit balls hard with improving extension. He gets his lower half through, flashes gap to gap power and will benefit from eliminating arm bar in load, letting top hand dominate load to avoid wrapping before staying smooth through contact. Overall, Peyton is a very coachable young player whom is willing and capable of trying new techniques to get better. With continued hard work, and his advanced foot speed as proven with his 6.82 60 yd dash, he is on track to receive collegiate attention in the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
