Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Peyton is a coachable 2B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Select Training & Competition at Pirate City. In the field, Peyton makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Peyton improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and tracks the ball well. He gets good extension through the ball and works to make solid contact. Peyton can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Peyton gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with a controlled landing. Peyton shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 56mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 51-52mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 50-52mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through more on his release can help Peyton improve as a pitcher. With five more years to develop, Peyton has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/23/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Florence (Cincinnati), KY Peyton is a young, solid, 2-way player who plays 2B and RHP. Defensively, Peyton has good pre-pitch actions, efficient footwork, and he fields in good rhythm. He presents his glove well, fields out in front of his body, and throws with consistency to his target. On the mound, Peyton has a loose/quick arm action, on-time separation, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has a controlled landing toward home and is around the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Peyton has a tall set-up, a still head, and a middle of the field approach. He has good feel for the barrel and makes square contact. Peyton can improve overall skills with work on the following.

1. Arm strength
2. Quickness
3. Play more through

2. Glove side lead
3. Long toss

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
