07/27/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Peyton continues to improve as an athletic outfielder. In the field, he makes plays by charging the ball hard, staying low through transfer and making accurate throws consistently to his cutoff man. Improving angles to the ball by taking fly ball reps in the gap will help range in a big way. Offensively, he shows good contact skills, hitting the inner 1/2 of the baseball and spraying line drives to all fields. As he continues to develop, Peyton continues to improve consistently.

01/31/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Peyton is an athletic OF who continues to show well. With the bat, this LHH shows a balanced setup with quiet/simple actions. He has rhythm to load and gets good hand separation. He whips the barrel on a level path, connects and drives the ball back up the middle of the field. In the OF, Peyton has active footwork getting good reads off of the bat and works into position behind the fly-balls. He secures the ball with 2-hands and makes accurate throws into his target. This athletic OF should find success this season.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Yoshioka is a tall/projectable LHH OF. At the plate, Peyton showed a middle of the field approach and flashed some core rotation and extension through contact. He barrels the ball up and looks to drive the middle of the field. Taking his hands directly to the baseball and driving through contact will increase barrel accuracy and backspin for carry. Defensively, Peyton shows a proper first step and gathers himself well while taking solid routes to the baseball. There are flashes of carry on the throws and staying on the balls of the feet while working downhill will add consistency in that area. He is a talented player who will make things happen in this his senior year.

08/09/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Peyton continues to show as an athletic outfielder with a good baseball frame. In the OF, he worked efficiently to make plays and had a sure glove. He took a good first step, getting good reads off the bat and with a continued long toss program will strengthen his arm and enable him to play any of the three spots. Offensively, he hit with a quiet head and used the entire field. He worked with hand/hip coordination and will continue boosting his bat speed with a more consistent pace of swing - generating good torque hitting off a stiff front side. All in all - Peyton is an intriguing ball player that has the fall/winter to strengthen his game for his senior spring season.

07/29/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Peyton is a very coachable and hardworking player that continues to show steady progress in his game. In the OF, he takes proper first steps and reads balls well off the bat in tracking down balls. He shows good instincts as he backs up bases and is always where he is suppose be. At the plate, he shows a balanced / squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He uses his lower half well and makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. At the event, he was 2 for 9.

01/25/2015 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Peyton again continues to show improvement in different areas of his game. In his most recent outing he ran a 7.78 (all time best 60) and ran a 4.81 down to 1B. Defensively, he continues to show aggressive actions in the OF with good instincts. Working to improve arm strength and speed will improve his OF stock. At the plate, this lefty maintains a square stance with smooth hands. He gets into a solid power position with separation in his hands and a level swing through the middle. Peyton has skills and will make an impact with the bat.

08/17/2014 - National Tryout - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Peyton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays clean / smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Feet are active / aggressive and he reads balls well off the bat with grade improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he showed a squared / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more.

01/26/2014 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Peyton is a lean, athletic OF that will graduate in 2016. Defensive abilities in the OF are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles to track balls down. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with life and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly, displaying outstanding arm strength. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting with well above average power grades through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. With 2 years to further develop, Peyton has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
