06/05/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South This athletic SS shows a tremendous future on the diamond. A RHH- hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. He has strength (90 mph exit velocity) in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws (89 mph velocity). Defensive abilities are near a pro level as he shows big play potential. Pierce has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

10/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Pierce is a physical (6'3"/185) infielder with outstanding feel for the game. He continues to get better each time we see him, posting a 6.88 in the 60 at the Futures South event along with 88mph arm strength and an 86 mph exit velocity. Pierce has an advanced ability to find the barrel, whether it be during batting practice or against high-level pitching. He is balanced, coordinates the lower/upper body and has a clean, direct path to the ball. The result is hard line drive contact to all fields. As a defender, Pierce has efficient feet, sure hands and natural actions. He can throw from different arm angles and is comfortable around the bag. Overall, Pierce has the frame, tools and ability to use them of a prospect that should be followed closely.

10/15/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South A talented 2019 graduate, Pierce had some of the best game at bats at the UA Futures South event. He hit the ball hard all three times against quality pitching including a ground rule double deep to the opposite field. He has gotten better each time we have seen him and there is still more upside available. Pierce has a physical 6'3" frame that will continue to fill out and add more explosiveness to his already solid all-around game. His RH stroke is repeatable and utilizes the whole field with some natural rhythm. As a defender, Pierce is solid and dependable with sure hands and sound footwork. Overall, Pierce is a young prospect to continue to follow closely.

09/30/2015 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Gallo is an athletic MIF who has made improvements to his game since we last saw him in May. Offensively, this RHH shows an athletic setup with good balance. Swing is level on a short/direct path as he connects with pop. He takes an aggressive hack and uses the entire field. He got on base consistently, drawing 3 walks, getting hit by a pitch and collecting 2 singles. Once on base he's an aggressive runner and isn't afraid to take the extra bag whenever he can. In the MIF - Pierce shows quick/active footwork as he moves well around the GB. He has smooth/athletic actions, gathers well and has the ability to throw from multiple arm slots. Presenting his glove more out in front will help to avoid getting the 'in-between' hop. Gallo has a ton of upside and as only a 2019 grad - still has a ton of time to fill out, get stronger and polish his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
