Official Scouting Report

07/31/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington, DC Pierce showed well all over the diamond during his last workout in DC. He is a projectable 2-way player with a solid stick. At 3B, Pierce has good footwork, he takes proper angles to field, and moves well to the glove side. He plays low, fields athletically, and throws with a strong / accurate arm with momentum across the diamond. On the mound, Pierce has a balanced delivery, a clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target, he has a controlled landing toward home plate, and he throws strikes. Offensively, Pierce has an open/athletic stance, he loads well, and stands in with solid balance. He has quick hands, fast bat speed, and he makes hard/consistent contact; tapping into a strong lower body. Pierce showed solid upgrades and we can expect more coming in the future.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Pierce is a strong/projectable (6'0"/195) 2-way prospect who can make things happen on the diamond in a variety of ways. Offensively, this RHH steps into the box with a purpose and is looking to swing it as he likes to jump on first pitch FB's. He has rhythm in his hands working back into a strong load/launch position. He fires the barrel to and through the zone with speed and connects with pop. He will fit nicely in the 'meat' of the order where he can drive in runs. Defensively, he moves lightly on the balls of his feet right to left in his approach to the GB. Hands are presented out in front as he funnels softly to a smooth transfer. Throws are strong/accurate across the diamond (88 mph). A well rounded athlete - Tewksbury has a bright future ahead in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
