07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Porter is a coachable C/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Porter shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He sets up in a square stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He gains momentum well on his throws to 2B and keeps them consistently on-line to the bag. Porter can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits from a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and gap to gap pop. Porter can improve as a hitter by getting into his load more. With four more years to develop, Porter has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
