06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Porter is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame with some strength present and plenty of room to develop. At SS, efficient feet and ability to move lateral. Good rhythm to actions with good fielding angles. Works into a low/square fielding position with some feel for glove pocket. Short arm action into a high 3/4 arm slot with a recorded an arm velocity of 83mph. A right-handed hitter who hits from a wide and even stance. Showed an aggressive approach at the plate and ability to make hard contact. In live game action, he reached base 5 times and showed pull side pop with a bat exit velocity of 89mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having the opportunity to play at the next level.

07/20/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Porter is an athletic SS prospect who continues to shine. Defensively, he is aggressive and moves lightly on the balls of his feet right to left in his approach to the GB. He has + lateral range, soft hands a a quick transfer to fire strong/accurate throws across the diamond. With the bat, this righty displays an athletic setup with centered balance. He whips the barrel with + speed, connects and drives the ball with pop (exit velocity = 86 mph). Price is a skilled 2022 grad who will make an impact on the diamond.

07/17/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Porter is a coachable 2B/OF prospect who showed well during the Under Armour Southwest Championships. In the field, Porter shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and strong through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to solid gap to gap pop. Overall, Porter is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/05/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Arcata, CA Porter is an athletic and talented 2022 Utility prospect. At 2B, Porter is on time with prep step, he attacks the ball, and has a quick first step to the ball. He throws from multiple arm angles and has a smooth exchange on double plays. In the OF, Porter is on time with his prep step, he gets good jumps off the bat, and attacks ground balls. He has range into the gap and works behind the ball. At the plate, Porter starts in a squared stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and creates backside drive with his lower half. He gets extension through contact and drives the ball gap to gap consistently. Porter will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Porter is an athletic C prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Porter sits in a low primary stance and receives the ball with a relaxed glove. He replaces his feet to throw and gets good carry through the 2B bag. He tucks his chin when blocking and keeps the ball in front of him. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball with plus barrel control, leading to line drives to all fields. With three more years to develop, Porter has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Porter is a coachable C/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Porter shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He sets up in a square stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He gains momentum well on his throws to 2B and keeps them consistently on-line to the bag. Porter can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits from a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and gap to gap pop. Porter can improve as a hitter by getting into his load more. With four more years to develop, Porter has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
