02/08/2015 - College PREP - Mobile, AL Preston is a talented OF who has and athletic build. In the OF, he works lightly on his feet with a quick first step to track down fly-balls. Solid routes/angles allow him to get into position behind the fly-ball, secure the ball, and gain ground toward his target. He gets rid of it while throws are strong and show carry & accuracy. With the bat, this righty shows a balanced approach with a strong base. Swing path is level through the zone as he connects and hits line-drives. More lower 1/2 drive and more extension through his finish will help to increase power at the plate. Preston (only a 2017 grad) has a ton of upside and will make an impact on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
